King Phillip Independent Living (KPIL) was started by Phillip Jude Thaddeus A. Domantay in March 2005. Phillip was born and raised in the Philippines. He is a Licensed Nurse in State of California. Phillip had patterned KPIL after a very successful "independent living home" that was started by a Colleague in San Jose, California in 1995. Phillip continues with his Career in Residential Care Facility for Elderly (RCFE) and as a Case Nurse Manager for Hospice Care Company while managing his own Independent Living Home. Phillip has a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Practical Nursing Certification, Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN), Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)® , Certified Food Safety Professional, Certified Hospitality Supervisor, Certified Hospitality Professional, Certified Electrocardiogram Technician (CET), Medical Assisting Certificate, Licensed Nurse in California, Registered Pharmacy Technician (Pharmacy Board of California), Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by PTCB, Graduate Certification at Stanford University and a Certification for Decision Analysis and Risk Management.
KPIL is an Open-Door Member of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in Santa Clara County. We get referrals and housing placement of clients and patients from Momentum for Mental Health, Life Moves (formerly Inn Vision), TeleCare Corporation, Gardner Family Healthcare Corporation/Gardner Health Services, San Jose Behavioral Health, Behavioral Health Services of Santa Clara, Santa Clara Valley Mental Health, San Benito County Behavioral Health Department, San Mateo County Behavioral Health Services, Catholic Charities, Kaiser Permanente, Mental Health Systems, Regional Medical Center, Home First Services, Fremont Hospital, Downtown Mental Health, Behavioral Health Service of Santa Clara, SART Human Services, other Local Hospitals and Rehabilitations, Community Solutions, Crossroads Residential, Mental Health System (TURN) Behavioral Health Services, and Sober Living Environments to support their clients with their housing needs. We also work with Benefits Management Corporation (BMC) that assist our clients Managing their Financial Benefits from the Social Security Administration. We also receive placements and referrals from Private Placement Agencies within the County and a few referrals from outside the County and outside the State. Phillip had experienced a great need for home that would give those in need a place to live that caters their emotional and mental health. KPIL is home to a caring staff and wonderful residents. Our home provides a safe, caring and friendly environment that celebrates individuality and gives quality independence to our residents.
